I am a PTUK qualified and registered Play Therapist and Creative Counsellor for Children and Young People, offering therapy sessions for children and young people aged 5-18, from my garden studio near Cranbrook in Kent.

​Life is full of challenges for young people and, although many of these can be managed within families, sometimes it can help to seek professional support. I take time to build a safe therapeutic relationship with the child/young person, in which they feel safe and unjudged. ​For children aged 5-10, play is the child's natural form of communication and expression. During play therapy, they will be offered a range of play items and art materials to help give a voice to their internal world. I will enter their play and follow their lead, enabling them to express themselves and process what they need to, through the safe metaphor of play. For older children and young people, creative counselling can be more appropriate. This is a type of talking therapy complemented by the use of art materials. Creative activities often enhance what we can express and explore through words alone, aiming to boost self-understanding and ultimately help the young person find strategies to cope with their challenges.
